Indiana-Kentucky Conference

Pastoral Search

The Indiana-Kentucky Conference UCC supports local churches seeking leadership and pastors seeking a call. Working with the United Church of Christ’s Ministerial Excellence Support and Authorization Team through the search and call process, the conference helps pastors and churches find the best match for their needs and skills.

If you are a local congregation, conference staff helps your church leadership find interim pastors and determine its longer-term goals and leadership needs. Then they will train and coach your search committee to complete a local church profile. Finally your search committee will evaluate candidates’ ministerial profiles, do interviews and eventually call a new pastor. Read more in this Guide to Pastoral Search and Call for Local Churches.

If you are an authorized minister seeking a call in the Indiana-Kentucky Conference, we welcome you! You should indicate on your pastoral profile that you’d like to circulate your materials in this conference. Then, check for openings in which you might be interested on the national Ministry Opportunities page. You can also find local resources such as a sample call agreement (the agreement between pastor and congregation), a guide to creating a local church profile (your congregation’s personal profile for would-be pastors to read), and the conference’s local church profile for smaller congregations on our Resources page. IKC Conference salary guidelines are also on the resources page under the “Finance and Stewardship Resources.” Read more in the Guide to Pastoral Search and Call for Ministers/Candidates in Search.

Please email Rev. Dr. Monica J. Ouellette, Associate Conference Minister, for assistance in this exciting process.
